Professor Alexandre Lyambabaje

Prof. Alexandre Lyambabaje is the Executive Secretary of the Inter-University Council for East Africa since November 2015. During his time in office he has driven forward the regional integration of the education sector in the East African Community (EAC) as well as the creation of African Centers of Excellence supported by the World Bank. As a holder of a PhD in Mathematics Statistics from University of Rennes in France, he has vast experience from Europe and Rwanda where he has worked as teacher and researcher at Ecole Nationale Superieure Agronomique de Rennes, France and University of Rwanda and as policy maker for the Ministry of Commerce, Cooperatives as Cabinet Minister and for the Ministry of Education as Secretary General.
