Tapiwa Kamuruko

Tapiwa Kamuruko who holds a PhD in Communication for Development is the Head of the United Nations Volunteers Regional Office for Africa, in Nairobi-Kenya. Tapiwa brings solid expertise and experience in a range of areas relevant to the work of the UN system including over 17 years of programme development and management covering policy analysis, poverty reduction strategies, good governance, environment and post conflict and recovery.

Tapiwa has been involved with the design of youth engagement strategies such as youth volunteering, and internship programmes and setting up of the African Union Youth Volunteers Corps as well as the ECOWAS volunteer programme.
